Thursdays Thoughts, JS

I'm not the only one to have a husband who's butts on fire 24/7,
but when JS starts one of his "Man on a Mission" projects,
I start feeling my age a little.

Monday the framing crew headed to the mountains to start on
the new cabin.  JS has already been up to inspect twice this week.
Today, I rode along.

Lower basement level, shop, bathroom, equipment room.
No.... not a work out room....HA HA
Hot water heater equipment.

Family-game room, storage.

By the end of the week, there will be a floor up here.
I can only imagine the view.

The Farms in Full Bloom

One of my blogger friend up north, still in the grips of winter,
asked if I would show some pictures of my yard.
I was going to, but last night we had a pretty good wind
and the yard looks terrible

So.... Crystal and all who visit,
come take a walk with me in the garden
and we can see whats blooming.
The Quince, Camellias and Azaleas are done.
The Rhododendrons are just starting.

This beautiful Iris was given to me by son Shane.
I love the purple beards on the yellow.

Daylilies, going to add more colors this year.

The Kousa Dogwood is in full bloom

Joseph's Coat Roses are so pretty in the morning sunlight.

What I can't take a picture of, is how wonderful
600+  Orange Trees fill the air with perfume and
the gentle hum of the honey bees working every tree.

It is heaven on earth.

Thursdays Thoughts, Annouing Anonymous

"I'd like to Annoy Anonymous right in the nose !!!!"
For about three weeks now, I've been getting junk mail on my comments page, under anonymous and it's now becoming a problem.

This is just a nice little blog that isn't hurting anyone.
 "So Quiet Being A Jerk"

If anyone out there knows how to make this stop,
it would be greatly appreciated.

Thursdays Thoughts, Son Shane

He's been working behind a desk since he graduated from college and
I know that at this point in his life, he's not where he thought he'd be.
He's young, he'll figure it out.

I do know that at heart, he's a farmer.

Hit and Miss

That's what my blogging is going to be for awhile.
The calendar for this month and May is pretty full
and the weather is good.

Going to try to get my yard clean
and the garden worked up and
some "projects done"

Ya......   I have big dreams.

Moving Forward

Back in January, I posted about a new project we
were starting. To finish fencing in the back yard
and make a more usable space out of this area.

The wall project has started up again.
It's taken this long for the block company
to get the block delivered.....  ;(
"Finely"

Two weeks age JS ordered concrete and a pump and
the block layer got the first row set in the footing.

He set the bock in the wet concrete and
made sure it's level.  It has to set for
a few days till it is dry.

Last week he came back and put up the wall
to the height we agreed on.

This photo give you a good idea of how much slop
there is to the ground.  Each block is 8 inches high.
The block are 8x8x16 inches.  We went with a
split face so the wall looks like stone.

After the wall has curd (dried) steel (rebar) will be put in
the holes vertically and the pump will come back
and fill the holes with concrete.

Then we'll bring in dirt to level this area..

I'll keep you posted................. ;D

The Biscuit's First Easter

No egg hunts or chocolate bunnies this year,
She was the center of attention with her three great grandparents,
in aw of this little wonder that has come into our lives.
Big rough and tough JS melts like butter in her presents
and I can't kiss her enough.
