Sunday Stills, Graffiti / Street Art

I thought that maybe I should explain Sunday stills a little.
Sunday Stills "Adventures in Photography"
is a web site that gives you a a weekly photo challenge to help you work on
"Hone Your Photography Skills"
I would see Sunday Stills on some of the blogs I follow so though I would check it out.
It's a lot of fun and you can see photos from people like me to professionals.
This weeks challenge was "Graffiti"
The challenge was trying to fine graffiti in our town, is seem to have a no graffiti policy.
We do have some nice art work by local artist so I thought you might enjoy it.
Somehow I don't think this is going to count for ""Graffiti

Osprey

Hi Everyone, I was setting here at my deck paying bills and thought I'd shoot a quick post out to you. Last week when JS and I took off to the mountains, we went out on the lake to check out the two Osprey nest. Sorry the picture are not very good. Both nest have babies in them and while we were watching them an adult Osprey dove into the water not 20 feet! from us and came out with a fish and flew up and fed the baby! IT WAS SO COOL!! " I Love that Stuff".
Just wanted to share ..........................................have a great weekend.

I Had a Martha Moment !

I'm not sure what I should even say.
It just started out as " Oh, It would be nice to make some jam from the plums on our two trees." It took must of the day !!
First it's picking the fruit, washing the fruit, cutting the fruit off the core then cutting up the fruit, are you getting the fruit theme here.
Then "The Jars" there is a whole list of things that gos with the jars, that you have to do.
Oh!!! and standing over the "HOT STOVE" with the HOT FRUIT and the HOT JARS,
("I think it's time for another mid week trip to the cabin")
and the book can't stress enough that everything should be HOT!

Ya, Martha makes it look easy because she has ten thousand interns to do it all.

OK, I have to admit there is quit a sense of accomplishment, but if this is a mid life thing, "I'm over it."

PUPPIES

I thought since I haven't been blogging long, I'd go back a few months and tell you about some of the things that have been going on . JS and I fully remodeled an old Victorian, down town. I went to Alaska with my mom and friends and our Aussie had puppies. Also as I told you in my last post, blogging is a little more challenging then I planned!..................I can get photos or I can get writing, but I can't seem to mix them together.................................so when you read this and it seems mixed up start and the bottom of the post and work up.

WELL !!!!!!!!!!!!!.........................THAT DIDN'T WORK !

Cubby is our three year old Aussie. She's my four legged kid, the ranch dog. Cub has coffee in the morning, before JS gos to work and gos with me out in the orchard. she keeps our cat on the roof and all other cats off the property. We had her breed in February and she gave birth on April 15 to eight pups. They were all good healthy and fat. We had a lot of fun with them, but they'r a lot of work. They all have new homes now, ones in Reno two are close by and the others are scattered around Northern Calif.
Next year I am going to have her breed again and then that will be it. Cubby is happy, her life is back to normal.

California Summer

Where did the week go..............................?

This wasn't my planned post, I'm still trying to figure out Blogger, it's a little more challenging then I thought. This is a fire that burned along the river this week in the valley. It's about 6 or 7 miles from my house but only about two miles from my Mom's. And the wind is blowing it straight at her.

This is a common scene in Calif. in the summer. We had a really wet spring so the grass is tall this year. The fire didn't get close to my Moms and since it was in the wildlife area, CDF let it burn.

Unfortunately there will be More fires.
