Paul Bunyon Bonfires
Thursday of last week, we met with the loggers to burn the slash
piles left from the logging, on the new mountain property.
Three of our workers came to help, it took all day.
Nine piles in all, it wasn't as scary as I thought it would be,
but sure glad it's done. Can't wait till spring, to see what
it looks like after setting through a winter.
Paul Bonyon would be proud.

Thursday Thoughts, Sunday Stills
A couple of weeks ago the Sunday Stills challenge was
"What inspirers you ?" For me it's nature.
Often what is viewed in nature, is seen only by the observer.
A fleeting moment in time that can never be duplicated.
To capture and share that moment is what inspirers me.
Sunday Stills, a weekly photo challenge, also inspirers me.
When I stated blogging, their was no grand plan.
No words of wisdom or life altering experiences to share.
I simply liked the photos on the other blogs I was reading,
and wanted to do the same.
A common theme of those photos was "Sunday Stills"
So............... I started following along.
I enjoy the challenges and the others who participate.
Their from all over the world and their photography
skills are as varied as their takes on the challenges.
Anyone can join in. It helps if you have a blog,
to be able to post your photos to share, but not necessary.
I hope you'll take time to visit Sunday Stills.

Create A Cow 2012
Did you know, that it takes 3000 cow hides to provide
all the footballs, for one season of the NFL? NO Bull !
Well, if you had been a third grader this week in Butte County,
you would have learned this earth move information and more.
Each year the Butte County Cattlewomen
sponsor the "Create A Cow" contest during Farm City Week,
held at the College of Agriculture in Chico.
Third grade teachers are given lesson plans, (that meet the school
curriculum), about beef by-products. The class designs how they
want their cow to look and what information
go's on it, that they have learned.
It's a lot of fun seeing what the kids have come up with.
"This is one Cool Cow'
The classes can also choose to do a poster.
The cows and the posters are then brought to the
Chico State Farm for Kids Day at the Farm.
The three hundred students and their teachers, participate
at stations learning about our local agriculture.
To learn more about Farm City Week or
for classroom materials go to California Beef Council

Oh No Snow !!!
Most of the cabin owners at Little Grass were caught off guard
by the 18 plus inches of snow last week.
Our place was in pretty good shape.
The biggest concern was the motor home and the camp trailer
were still there, for the construction crew.
Thank goodness, our big tractor was there also.
JS spent all day Saturday plowing the road, while I dug out
water boxes and valves, to drain all the water lines.
Sunday we headed home with our little caravan. I drove the motor home
and JS pulled the trailer. At lest we blended in with the deer hunters.
I was afraid we would be mistaken as the "Irish Travelers"....... ;D

Blog Update
"When All Else Fails, Read Directions"
The problem is not fixed ?
Zachary was by this morning and set up my external hard drive,
(that I've had for months)
It didn't help.
Even went to my Picasa account and deleted some photos,
I knew were not on my blog, that did nothing.
I'm going to try Linda's suggestion,
of going threw my Flickr account.
Wish me luck.
