Blogging

OK............This is long ..........but, there is a point to all of it.

The only thing I ever heard about blogs were the creepy people
in there underwear in dark rooms spewing political
crap, that I didn't much care about.
Until this past Christmas when I bought Only Daughter Dawn
a cook book. I started reading it, but only got half way
when I had to stop and wrap it up.
So like a good Red Blooded American I bought my own.

"THE PIONEER WOMAN COOKS"
BY REE DRUMMOND
"Going Threw Life One Calf Nut At A Time"
At the end of the book was the comment Ree Drummond
has a successful BLOG. So I went on line to check it out.
"I was Hooked!
It Had Wit, Ranch Life, Kids, Dogs, and FOOD."
After about two months of reading Ree every day, it accrued
to me that there had to be other ranching, farming,
gardening and FOOD blogs out there.
( Yes......Two Months.....I'm a little slow).
Here are hundreds.
The ones I really liked I saved and lots of others I passed by.
On one site the words (create your own blog) came up
so i did. With no idea of what I was going to do with it.

S0...............now I'm here.
I think I have a good start and it looks nice.
99% of the photos are mine, one from Mom and Mexico
pics from Youngest Son Zach ( I was with them ).
Can't tell you how much I love reading the comments
you leave and will work on the spelling, but not going
to lose sleep over it. It's a work in progress
and the designing is the easy part.

What do you talk about ? What don't you talk bout ?

"Yes I'm getting there!"

The other day Ree had 10 points about blogging the most important
"Be Your Self"
A few days later another blogger started a post with and
apology, thinking she has offended her readers.
By the comments left, she had not.
I felt strongly about one of the comments and that
it pretty much summed up blogging for me.

"For whatever it's worth, I write my blog for me. I always love
reading comments if anyone has anything to say about what I
write, but I started it for me and it's always been for me.

I read other people's blogs in the same way. It's their life and
it's what they want to write about. If I don't agree with it, I
move on (If you have nothing nice to say then don't
say, anything , sort of mentality)."

So I make you this promise,
"I Will Be Who I Am, Good, Bad or Indifferent".

If you like what you find here, visit often and comment often.
If not, I hope you fined what your looking for.
Have a great day.

Brown eye, Blue eye Girl

This is our four legged child, "Cubby aka Ranch Dag"
with her "Dad loves me better than you do" look.
She's in charge of keeping the cat on the roof and
holding down the porch, and has both mastered.

Its been pretty busy around here the past two week.
Social calender was full of Birthday parties, a wedding
and a BBQ and work has us scattered all over,
so that takes up more hours of the day.

No time for chasing turkeys out of the orchard,
hit and runs on the horses and coffee breaks with Mom.

Thursday we ran to the Mountains.
They're starting drop the water in the lake and we
needed to push the dock out.
Ranch Dog got to go along, a dip in the lake ,
hit and run on the ducks, two hot dogs and a fig newton
All is right in the world.

Thursday's Thoughts

I decided that my ride is a good indicator
of my life this week.
Looks good on the out side, but inside
all the cup holders are full of empties
and it's over the speed limit and out of control.

Road Trip, Alturas

Thursday of last week, Mom and I drove up to
Alturas in Modoc county, (up by the Oregon border)
to see my Uncle Ed's (moms younger bothers )
new saddle shop.
Ed has been building custom saddles
for as long as I can remember?
"Isn't this pretty"
These are for saddles that have been ordered.
Ed makes all kinds of tack, headstalls and reins,
breast plates, chinks, back cinches,
and carries the standard cowboy equipment.
No boots or hats! as Ed would say,
"This is a saddle shop not a western store."
I love the spur straps with the silver, but
"I like anything with Silver!"
The shop also carries lots of items on consignment,
Wild rags, spurs, saddles and much more.
Like these beautiful Rawhide Reatas
(ropes made of leather)
Or bring in your old saddles and have them repaired.
So if your going threw Alturas on Main Street stop by
Clark's Saddle Co. The coffees always on.

You can also fined Ed's add on http://Buckaroocountry.com
under K.E. Clark Saddle Co.
Ed is also working on a web page,
I'll have it under my links when? he gets it up.

Thursday's Thoughts

Set aside some time to savor summer's last hurrah.
Seek out the comfort of a favorite chair and
spend a few extravagant moments
simply doing nothing

Victoria, British Columbia

The last leg of our Alaska trip was a stop on Vancouver Island,
to the beautiful Butchart Gardens.
There are no words to enhance the beauty of this place
so, I will simply say "Enjoy your stroll threw the garden."

Your right this ain't Boots or shoes!
I'm in a camera dilemma.
My first camera that I had for three years, fell out of
the truck on the way up to the mountains, one weekend.
"Not much to tell there"
Bought a new Samsung 15X, with all the bells
and whistles at Costco in July and Have managed to loose
the (#@!$&*:{!%<) CHARGER CORD!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So............I have a camera, but the battery is dead.
Ordered a new one, now just waiting. :(

P.S. "I have know idea why my picture is so big."
